Fuel Price & Tax Breakdown Calculator

€/tonne ⇄ cents/litre via fuel density · pump-price tax breakdown from your excise + VAT rates

Two things wholesale and retail fuel people constantly translate by hand: commodity prices quoted per tonne against pump prices per litre, and how much of a pump price is actually tax.

The arithmetic, exactly

cents/litre = €/tonne × density (kg/l) ÷ 10. Pump price decomposes as (product + excise) × (1 + VAT): the product share is pump ÷ (1+VAT) − excise, and everything else is tax. Excise rates per country are published in the European Commission's DG TAXUD excise duty tables — enter your country's current rate above; this page deliberately hard-codes none, so it can never quietly go stale.
