Construction Vibration Limit Checker (PPV)

DIN 4150-3 short-term guideline values at the foundation · frequency-interpolated · optional USBM scaled-distance predictor

Enter a measured (or predicted) peak particle velocity and its dominant frequency, pick the building line, and check it against the DIN 4150-3 short-term guideline values for damage to structures.

Optional: predict PPV from a blast (USBM scaled distance)

The values, exactly

DIN 4150-3 short-term guideline values at the foundation (mm/s), linearly interpolated inside the 10–50 Hz and 50–100 Hz bands: Line 1 20 / 20→40 / 40→50; Line 2 5 / 5→15 / 15→20; Line 3 3 / 3→8 / 8→10 for <10 Hz / 10–50 Hz / 50–100 Hz. The USBM RI 8507 predictor is PPV = K·(D/√W)−β in imperial units (in/s, ft, lb) — converted here — with K ≈ 160 and β ≈ 1.6 only as an average-ground starting point: site constants must be calibrated with measurements.

Guideline compliance aid, not a structural assessment. Exceeding a guideline value does not prove damage, and staying under it does not license nuisance — national rules and contracts govern.
